THREE RIVERS — Three Rivers wrestler Braylon Faile has been voted as the Sturgis Journal’s Athlete of the Week.
Faile earned last week’s honor — presented weekly by Glen Oaks Community College — in impressive fashion. He garnered 2,151 of the 4,624 total votes cast for athlete of the week honors. That was good for 46.52 percent of the total votes cast throughout the week.
Brock Woodhouse of Marcellus finished second with 771 votes (16.67 percent) and Layne Knisely of Bronson finished third with 600 votes and 12.98 percent.
The athlete of the week voting takes place weekly for us, presented by our good friends out at Glen Oaks Community College.
Faile was nominated for the weekly honor after winning a Division 2 regional championship at 165 pounds for Three Rivers. He is now 51-5 on the season and will compete at Ford Field this coming weekend in the individual state finals.
