See which Greater Lansing softball players were named all-state

Saige Miller was one of the major components in the Fowler softball team making its best state tournament run since 2014 this spring.

And the senior shortstop and Maryland signee is among the players from Greater Lansing who were named all-state by the Michigan High School Softball Coaches Association.

Miller was named first team all-state in Division 4 for a third straight season and was among five players to earn all-state recognition for Fowler, which made the deepest tournament run in the area by reaching the state semifinals.

Other Fowler players honored included freshman Bristol Miller and Addison Spicer earning first team honors and Rachel Wirth and Selena Stump being selected honorable mention all-state.

Grand Ledge, Owosso, Lansing Catholic, Laingsburg, Ithaca and Dansville each had multiple all-state selections.

Grand Ledge outfielder and Central Michigan signee Jade Queen and catcher Amelia Bernard were selected first team all-state in Division 1. Owosso had catcher Ady Freeman, second baseman Audri Hmcharik and Bella Harris named Division 2 first team all-state and Danica Dwyer selected honorable mention. Queen and Freeman repeated as first team all-state selections.

Lansing Catholic twin sisters and Grand Valley signees Avery Dunneback and Taylor Dunneback were first team all-state in Division 3. Ithaca pitcher Maeli Akin was a first team all-state selection and teammate Madelyn Smith was named honorable mention all-state. Bella Latuszek and Harper Strouse were Division 3 honorable mention all-state selections for Laingsburg.

Dansville had its two pitchers honored in Division 4 with Laci Neal being named first team all-state and Ryker Graf earning honorable mention accolades.

Carson City-Crystal, Fulton, Portland St. Patrick and Webberville were the other area programs to have all-state selections.

Fulton sophomore Kerrigan Ryan and Portland St. Patrick’s Gracelyn Rockey were Division 4 first team all-state selections, while Carson City-Crystal’s Ela Carter and Webberville’s Valerie Grosser were honorable mention all-state.
