That success contributed to both programs having multiple players named all-state by the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association.

Portland St. Patrick, which spent most of the season ranked No. 1 in Division 4, had an area-best five players recognized. Catcher Charlie Thelen, first baseman Tyler Thelen, infielder Jerryd Scheurer and pitchers Sean Fedewa and Brady Leonard were all-state selections for CMAC champion Portland St. Patrick, which reached the Division 4 quarterfinals.

Williamston, which shared the CAAC Red title with Mason, had three Division 2 all-state selections in outfielders Kaleb Nielson and Grand Valley signee Hunter VanSickler and pitcher and Saginaw Valley commit Brett Palmer. The trio contributed to the Hornets reaching the quarterfinals.

East Lansing, DeWitt, Leslie, Eaton Rapids, Leslie, Ovid-Elsie, Fulton and Dansville were the other area programs with all-state selections.

Michigan State signee Paul VanDam of East Lansing and DeWitt outfielder Joseph Bobeda were named all-state in Division 1. Joining the Williamston trio on the Division 2 all-state team was Eaton Rapids catcher Parker Nelson.

The area’s Division 3 all-state selections were Kentucky commit and Leslie pitcher Jackson Fossitt and Ovid-Elsie catcher Brody Howard.

Fulton pitcher Bryson Sattler and Dansville outfielder Hunter Greenman were named all-state in Division 4.
