The start time of the final round of the final Rocket Classic at Detroit Golf Club has been changed for Sunday, Aug. 2.
Tee times will be moved into the late morning and early afternoon, with players teeing from Nos. 1 and 10 in threesomes, the PGA Tour announced Saturday afternoon during the third round.
“Due to forecasted storms and rain overnight and into Sunday morning, tee times for the final round of the Rocket Classic will run from approximately 10:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. ET in groups of three from Nos. 1 and 10,” the PGA Tour wrote.
Gates will open to the public at 9:30 a.m. Sunday; hospitality food and beverage service will begin at 11 a.m. The tournament expects play to end around 5:45 p.m., barring another playoff.
For reference, Saturday’s third round started at 7:30 a.m. and the leaders, Cameron Young and Patrick Cantlay, teed at 1:50 p.m. as the final group.
There are 73 golfers who made the cut to play the weekend in the second-to-last tournament of the Tour’s regular season.
A $16.1 million renovation to the North Course at Detroit Golf Club over the past year was intended to make the tournament more challenging, removing two par-5s to play as a par-70, adding fescue grass, ditches, remaking bunkers and expanding the Donald Ross-designed greens for added pin placements. While that has been the case for most of the field as the cut line shifted from 6-under in 2025 to 3-under in 2026, three golfers tied the course record of 61, set by Jake Knapp in the second round in 2025: Peter Malnati in the first round on Thursday, Young in the second round on Friday and Rasmus Højgaard early Saturday.
