Detroit — The Red Wings signed forward Theo Rochette to a one-year, entry-level contract on Sunday.
Rochette, 24, was an undrafted free agent after helping Switzerland to a silver medal at the 2026 world championship in Zurich and Fribourg, Switzerland.
Rochette (5-foot-11, 172-pounds) had six points (three goals, three assists) in 10 games with the Swiss national team.
He spent last season in his native Switzerland with Lausanne HC in Switzerland’s top professional league.
Rochette led the team with 22 goals and eight power-play goals, along with 21 assists (fourth) and 43 points (second) with a plus-12 rating.
He also had a productive playoff, recording seven points (one goal, six assists) in seven games.
In total, Rochette has compiled 104 points (50 goals), and a plus-24 rating with 61 penalty minutes in 131 regular-season games with Lausanne HC since 2023-24.
Rochette captained Quebec to a QMJHL junior championship in 2022-23, totaling 106 points (64 assists) in 65 games.
