LANSING — State officials warned that construction work could affect drivers who use U.S. 127 in the area of Interstate 96 on Friday, May 15 and Saturday, May 16.
The ramp from westbound I-96 to northbound U.S. 127 will be closed rom 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday and from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, the Michigan Department of Transportation said.
Two lanes of southbound U.S. 127 will be closed between Forest and Jolly roads from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, and the Dunckel Road ramp to southbound U.S. 127 will be closed during the same hours on those days.
Crews will do slope repairs and bridge epoxy overlay work, MDOT said.
It’s been another year of slow going on U.S. 127 in the Lansing area.
MDOT is revamping the section of freeway between Interstate 69 and Lake Lansing Road this year, and all traffic is currently shifted to the southbound side of the freeway.
In late March, the agency warned that some tasks left over from last year’s leg of a multi-year corridor improvement project, including median barrier wall work, bridge epoxy overlays, concrete surface coatings and pavement markings, would be done this year.
