Several Pride Month events have been set in the Monroe County area to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community.
June 6: Milan Pride Parade
The fifth annual Milan Pride Parade will start to assemble at 11:15 a.m. Saturday, June 6. The parade will begin at noon from the Park Street parking lot, adjacent to United Methodist Church and Wilson Park.
Attendees are asked to bring signs and flags and to wear Pride gear. No roads will be closed.
June 7: Embrace Pride Art Fest
Embrace Pride Art Fest: 2026 Kaleidoscope is set for noon-6 p.m. Sunday, June 7 at Green Witch Gardens, 8930 S. Custer Road in Monroe. Admission is free.
Offered will be work by more than 30 local artists and crafters, live performers, vendors and food trucks.
“Where art, identity and joy collide in the most beautiful way,” event organizer Embrace Monroe said in an event announcement.
June 14: Milan Pride Celebration
The fifth annual Milan Pride Celebration is set for 2-6 p.m. Sunday, June 14 at Milan’s Riverside Center, 35 Neckel Court.
Free pizza, drinks and cookies will be served. Also featured will be the Kona Ice truck, a DJ, photo booth and arts and crafts.
Drag Story Time is set for 3:30 p.m. A drag musical performance is set for 4:30-5:30 p.m.
June 19-20: Downriver Pride
Downriver Pride will take place June 19-20 in downtown Wyandotte.
Offered will be vendors, artists, food trucks, performances and community programming.
June 20: Monroe County Pride Drag Pageant
The second Monroe County Pride Drag Pageant is set for 7 p.m.-midnight Saturday, June 20 at the River Raisin Centre for the Arts, 114 S. Monroe St. in Monroe.
“Monroe County Pride Drag Pageant will be an unforgettable event filled with glamour and fabulous performances,” said the event announcement. “This family friendly event will showcase Miss, Mr. and Mx drag contestants competing to be the next titleholders.”
General admission tickets are $20 each. Only clear bags will be permitted.
June 27: Monroe County Pride
Monroe County Pride is returning for a sixth year. The 2026 event is set for 1-7 p.m. Saturday, June 27 at Monroe’s St. Mary’s Park. The event draws more than 1,000 attendees each year.
“We expect another amazing year. We will have the art market, informational booths, food trucks, entertainment and drag performances all day,” said Reese Johnson, vice president of Monroe County Pride.
Aug. 15: Drag Bingo
Embrace Monroe will hold Drag Bingo from 6-10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15 at Rockwood Community Center, 32001 Fort Road. Doors will open at 5:30.
“Step into a world of spaghetti, sequins and support at Embrace Monroe’s LGBTQ and allies 18+ Drag Bingo Spaghetti Fundraiser Dinner. Play games, buy raffle tickets (50/50 and Decks of Cards) and bid in our silent auctions,” Embrace Monroe said in an event announcement.
