Police: Boy in critical condition after being hit by garbage truck in north Lansing

LANSING — A 5-year-old boy was critically injured when he was struck by a garbage truck in north Lansing, police said.

The incident happened just before 2 p.m. June 16 in the area of North Grand River Avenue and Seagar Street, Lansing Police Public Information Director Jordan Gulkis said.

The boy was taken to a hospital and was reported in critical but stable condition, she said.

The driver of the garbage truck was cooperating with the investigation, police said.

No other details about the incident were released.
