The Detroit Pistons are moving on to the Eastern Conference second round.
The 1-seed Pistons beat the 8-seed Orlando Magic, 116-94, in Game 7 of their first-round series on Sunday, May 3, at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit.
It’s the Pistons’ first Game 7 win in 20 years, their first series clincher since 2008, the first in LCA’s nine-year history and, for that matter, the first in franchise history within Detroit city limits.
The Pistons advance to the second round of the playoffs and will play the winner of the first-round series between the 4-seed Cleveland Cavaliers and 5-seed Toronto Raptors. (Game 7 of that series tips off in Cleveland on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. ET.)

The Pistons won three games in a row against the Magic after falling into a 3-1 deficit following Game 4, completing a comeback reminiscent of their seven-game series against the Magic in the 2003 first round. They are the 15th team in NBA history to rally from a 3-1 deficit to win the series.
Detroit advanced despite being 24 minutes away from elimination down by 22 points at halftime of Game 6, making a historic comeback to force Game 7.
