Michigan State football has opened as a slight favorite in this weekend’s big-time non-conference matchup against Boston College.
The Spartans have opened as a 3.5-point favorite over Boston College, according to multiple sports books. The over/under total for points is 48.5, meaning the betting experts anticipate this game being around the final score of 26-23 in favor of Michigan State.
Michigan State opened the season with a relatively dominant 23-6 victory over Western Michigan this past Friday. The Spartans held the Broncos’ offense scoreless, with Western Michigan’s defense finding the endzone on an interception return as the only score late in the game.
Boston College also looked impressive in its season-opening win over FCS foe Fordham. The Eagles won by the final score of 66-10, but to be fair, Fordman was picked in the preseason to finish last in the Patriot League.
Kickoff from Spartan Stadium is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. The game will be televised nationally on NBC.
