The Michigan State Police Monroe Post is investigating a crash Jan. 4 that killed two people in Franklin Township.
Troopers and first responders were dispatched around 2 p.m. to US-12 near Wisner Highway after a report that a vehicle struck a tree.
The driver, an 85-year-old Brooklyn man, was taken to ProMedica Hickman Hospital in Adrian, where he was pronounced dead. A 77-year-old female passenger from Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Preliminary investigation indicated the driver may have suffered a medical emergency before the crash.
