When the Michigan State and Notre Dame football programs get reacquainted this season, it’ll be under the lights.
The Spartans and Fighting Irish will resume a series that dates to 1897 on Saturday, Sept. 19, in South Bend, with kickoff at 7:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on NBC/Peacock.
It will be the third game on Michigan State’s schedule, following home games against Toledo currently scheduled on Sept. 5 and Eastern Michigan on Sept. 12.
Michigan State and Notre Dame have met 79 times, but not since back-to-back meetings in 2016-17. Notre Dame leads the series, 49-29-1.
Michigan State is coming off a 4-8 season, and will be playing its first under new head coach Pat Fitzgerald. Notre Dame went 10-2 last season.
