Michigan basketball drops to No. 6 in latest coaches poll after two close wins

Michigan basketball now has three games under its belt, and though the Wolverines opened up the season with a dominant victory over Oakland, the past two games (vs. Wake Forest and TCU) have been nailbiters going down to the end.

The maize and blue are still undefeated, but given the close calls of the past two games, the coaches weren’t as impressed by the Wolverines as they were last week.

Michigan dropped one spot to No. 6 in the latest USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll, but is still up one spot from the preseason rankings. Other Big Ten teams included are No. 1 Purdue, No. 8 Illinois, No. 18 MSU, No. 20 UCLA, No. 21 Wisconsin, and No. 25 Indiana. Upcoming opponent, Auburn, dropped out of the top 25, while Duke is ranked No. 4.
