The sheriff’s office said deputies were called to an apartment complex in Fort Gratiot on Saturday, July 19, after a woman had gone to her neighbors in a disoriented state saying she had been drugged and sexually assaulted. The woman was transported to Port Huron McLaren for treatment.

Deputies spoke to the victim, Fouts and the 911 caller and learned the victim had met Fouts on a dating app. During the investigation deputies learned Fouts had allegedly taken photos of the victim. He was arrested at the scene.

Fouts was arraigned Tuesday, July 22, and was denied bond.

The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the possibility there were other victims in the case. Anyone who believes they or someone they know may be a victim can speak to a detective at (810) 987-1726.
