Looking for a slice this summer? Try these pizzerias in Livingston

The children are home for the summer, the nights are longer, the chaos is louder. Some evenings, it’s just easier to grab a pie than cook at home. That’s why we’ve compiled a list of the area’s numerous family-owned pizzerias, each with a unique take on select styles and customizable sides.

From east to west, north to south, here’s a non-exhaustive pizza tour with styles made popular in Chicago and Detroit (and beyond) in Livingston County:

Coratti’s Pizzeria Bar and Bocce

316 E. Grand River Ave. in Howell

Enjoy a slice of pizza during an intense game of bocce ball at Coratti’s Pizzeria Bar and Bocce. The business is known for true Neapolitan, wood-fired pizza. You can also order American-style and Detroit-style.

Captain’s ön Main

423 W. Main St. in Brighton

Captain’s ön Main is part-espresso bar, part-pizzeria, with options like margherita, pepperoni, three cheese, sausage, mushroom and Hawaiian.

Gus’s Carryout

210 W. Grand River Ave. in Howell

A local favorite known for pizza and breadsticks. There are 12-inch and 16-inch pies, as well as gluten-free. Customers can choose their own toppings or order among five specialty pizzas. You can also find similar fare at Tomato Brothers in Howell.

Rollin Stone Wood Fired Pizza

9406 Village Place Blvd. in Brighton

Rollin’ Stone Wood Fired Pizza has been “all about real, handmade pizza” since 2012, according to the business’ website. Customers can order either personal (10-inch) or large (14-inch) pizzas. Some options include cheese, classic pepperoni, margherita, sweet barbecue chicken, buffalo chicken and BLT, among others.

Howell’s Mainstreet Winery

201 W. Grand River Ave. in Howell

Grab a glass of signature wine and enjoy a 16-inch thin crust pizza at Howell’s Mainstreet Winery. All pies are made with fresh ingredients in a stone oven.

As of June 25, the business is temporarily closed during an ownership transition. Despite the change, the winery’s new owners have said most everything (including the pizza) will remain the same.

Howell 2 Go

1100 S. Michigan Ave. in Howell

Howell 2 Go carries specialty pizzas like BLT, meat lover, deep-dish, vegetarian, supreme, cheeseburger and barbecue chicken.

Jonna’s

1455 N. Michigan Ave. in Howell

4986 Chilson Road near Brighton

5960 Pinckney Road near Pinckney

The original Jonna’s Market is known for cheesy breadsticks, tasty dips and specialty grab-and-go pizzas, alongside other deli favorites. You can also visit Jonna’s Bar and Grill for a sit-down meal full of pizza, breadsticks and burgers.

Enzo’s Pizzeria

12402 Highland Road in Hartland Township

Customers can find an assortment of flavors, including pickle, chicken alfredo, crab rangoon, jalapeno popper and street corn. There are traditional flavors, too, like cheese and margherita.

Aubree’s Pizzeria and Grill

4433 E. Grand River Ave. in Howell

Aubree’s offers build-your-own pizza or specialty pies from the menu, including margherita, supreme, meat, barbecue chicken, hot honey pepperoni or the impressive “Funghi Pizza” made with garlic parmesan sauce, swiss cheese, caramelized onions, green onions and mushrooms.

Riverside Pizza

This pizza joint has toppings like macaroni and cheese, steak, pepperoni, spinach and feta, salad and more.

Guido’s Premium Pizza

Guido’s Premium Pizza has numerous options options for round or Detroit-style pies. Customers can choose from the business’ original sauce or spicy fire roasted sauce.

Towne Square Pizza

Towne Square Pizza, conveniently located on Main Street in Pinckney, offers delicious specialty pies, subs, salads and cheeseburgers.
