WESTLAND — Fried fish lovers rejoice.

Long John Silver’s, a Westland fast-food mainstay, reopened Nov. 12, bringing a modern look and updated technology to its longtime address at 461 S. Wayne Road in Westland.
The new building replaces the company’s former – and aging – structure, which was demolished in 2024.
“The new restaurant enables us to provide our guests with an even better dining experience,” said Laura Ellis, chief marketing officer at Long John Silver’s. “The new building incorporates Long John Silver’s updated restaurant design, featuring a clean, vibrant color palette, paired with new furniture and artwork that nods to our love of the sea.”
Guests can expect a familiar menu, from batter-dipped fish, chicken, and shrimp to grilled salmon and shrimp tacos, bowls and meals.
The restaurant also now includes digital menu boards, self-serve kiosks and other upgrades designed to make ordering faster and more convenient for dine-in, carryout and mobile orders.
Founded in 1969 in Lexington, Kentucky, Long John Silver’s built its reputation on making seafood accessible far from the coasts.
“The idea behind our restaurant is simple – we want to take the unique seafood experience from the coast and make it accessible to everyone,” Ellis said. “That mission remains the same today.”
The new Westland building is part of the company’s initiative to roll out remodeled restaurants across the country with updated designs and technology improvements.
The restaurant will be open Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Customers can dine in, use the drive-thru, or order ahead online or through the Long John Silver’s mobile app. Delivery is also available via DoorDash, Uber Eats and Grubhub.
