Livonia man acquitted in shooting of father, son at Garden City bar

A Livonia man was acquitted last week of shooting and wounding a father and son outside of a Garden City bar on New Year’s Day.

Brian Lindsay, 30, was found not guilty Wednesday of attempted murder, assault with the intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, felonious assault and felony firearm.

Lindsay’s attorney, Theodore Calvin Wallace III, said in March that Lindsay was pulled out of his car by two unknown people and was assaulted. He needed surgeries on his face and had a broken ankle. Wallace said the shooting was done in self defense.

Police were called at about 4:15 a.m. Jan. 1 to the parking lot of the Rockstarz Bar in Garden City for a report of shots fired, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office. A 55-year-old man and his 22-year-old son were taken to the hospital in critical condition.
