A local man was killed after being electrocuted while working on power lines in Port Sheldon Township, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to Holly Drive around 2:30 p.m. July 24 after receiving an emergency call about an unresponsive lineman from Spectrum.
When officers arrived, they found the man — 53, of Grand Haven Township — dead in the extended bucket of a boom truck. He’d been working on power lines in the area, according to OCSO.
A subsequent autopsy ruled the manner of death was an accidental electrocution, police announced July 29. The victim’s name was not immediately released.
The case remains under investigation.
