A local playplace and creative outlet for children is moving to a more open floor plan in Kensington Valley Outlets.
Kaleidoscope Play & Create will relocate from Suite D150 to Suite D200 — the former home of Sperry — in October.
Kahilee Armijo, the business’ owner, previously used D200 for storage before opening in April. She’d originally hoped to launch there, but the storefront was under negotiation with a different business. When the deal fell through, she said, she decided to make the move.
Kaleidoscope Play & Create is an inclusive, sensory-friendly and creative space for children aged 4-12.
As a single mother to four girls, Armijo was inspired to explore broader options for indoor playplaces. She wondered whether she could combine the best features of different venues to encourage more imaginative and creative play, which led to Kaleidoscope.
Parents and children can expect the same activities and areas after the move, according to Armijo. The only space being reduced is the office.
The new location will provide a more open floor plan, making it easier for staff to manage the art room and inventory — and for parents with multiple children to keep everyone in view.
