HUDSONVILLE ― Johannesburg-Lewiston’s Allie Nowak has cemented herself as the top female track and field athlete in school history.
That was probably true prior to the Division 4 state championships on Saturday, May 31, but after the senior won her second-straight 800-meter state championship, clocking in a time of 2 minutes, 18.45 seconds, her place in JoBurg history is all but settled.
Nowak has been a part of three state championships.
First, she helped the girls cross country team become the first state team champion in school history in 2022, placing third overall at the D4 state final to help JL claim the top spot.
As a junior, she became the school’s first individual state champion, setting a Division 4 record in the 800 with a time of 2:13.51, still her personal best time in that event.
This state title makes it three to her name as the senior concludes the most decorated athletic career a JoBurg Cardinal has ever had.
She is signed with Michigan State cross country and track, set to become JL’s first Big Ten athlete.
