Allen Park — Multiple Detroit Lions were absent from Sunday’s practice, including wide receiver Jameson Williams and cornerback Nick Whiteside.
Neither Williams nor Whiteside had a known injury entering Sunday, and Lions coach Dan Campbell didn’t bring up either player in his news conference shortly before practice began. Campbell will likely provide an update Monday.
Running back Isiah Pacheco (MCL) was in pads but did not participate in team drills. Offensive tackle Devin Cochran was suited up but removed his pads about midway through practice and watched the remainder of the session from the sideline.
A full list of those who did not practice, aside from players already on an injured list — offensive tackle Giovanni Manu and safeties Kerby Joseph (knee) and Brian Branch (Achilles) — is provided below.

The Lions made two additions to their roster Sunday, including another player who formerly played in the United Football League.
Cornerback Ekow Boye-Doe, most recently with the UFL’s DC Defenders, was signed. Boye-Doe played at Kansas State (2018-22) and started his NFL career as an undrafted free agent with the Kansas City Chiefs (2023). He was with the New York Giants (2024) and Arizona Cardinals (2025) before joining the Defenders.
The Lions now have eight former UFL players on their roster, in Boye-Doe, kicker Jake Bates (Michigan Panthers), Saylors (St. Louis Battlehawks), cornerbacks Whiteside (Battlehawks) and Bump Cooper (Birmingham Stallions), and wide receivers Tarik Black (Louisville Kings), Lucky Jackson (Kings) and Tay Martin (Columbus Aviators).
Also signed Sunday was running back Trayveon Williams, who was brought in as a direct replacement for Kye Robichaux, who injured his foot in Detroit’s preseason opener versus the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday and was waived with an injury designation Sunday. Safety Loren Strickland, who appeared to hurt his leg in the third quarter against the Bengals, was waived with injury designation, as well.
Williams was a sixth-round draft pick out of Texas A&M in 2019. He spent the first six years of his career with the Bengals before making stops with the New England Patriots, Cleveland Browns and Los Angeles Chargers in 2025. Williams has 343 rushing yards on 72 attempts across 75 appearances.
