Two schools dominated the voting in the separate polls for Livingston County’s offensive and defensive preseason Players of the Year.
The top three vote-getters for Defensive Player of the Year were from Howell, with senior linebacker Gavigan Walraven winning the readers’ vote at 46%. Teammate Jackson Pahl had 37%.
Walraven ranked third on Howell’s team with 62 tackles last season after making 29 as a sophomore.

In the vote for preseason Offensive Player of the Year, Pinckney senior running back Henry Taube took first place with 60.8% of the vote. Teammate Jax Raymond, a junior quarterback, was second with 32.3%.
Taube ran for 921 yards and five touchdowns on 154 carries last year.
