Dieppa (Hudsonville) was also chosen by the league’s coaches as the MIAA Senior Sportswoman of the Year.

Hope also placed three players on the All-MIAA Second Team: defender Mia Hesley and midfielders Lauren Ellinger and Grace Fowler.

Dieppa proved to be a dynamic two-way player, contributing across the field for the Flying Dutch. The senior shared the team lead with eight goals during the regular season. An exercise science major, Dieppa scored five times in MIAA play, including two-goal games against Alma College and Kalamazoo College. This is her first All-MIAA selection.

The MIAA Senior Sportswoman of the Year award is given to a senior who values competition, education and service while also bringing joy to the game.

Harris (Zeeland, Michigan / Holland Christian) received her third All-MIAA First Team honor after scoring a career-high six goals this season, including four against MIAA opponents, and collecting two assists. The senior physical and health education major also delivered two game-winning goals.

The Flying Dutch lost 2-1 to Calvin in the MIAA finals on Saturday, Nov. 7.

Men’s soccer

Up and down the pitch, the MIAA champion Hope College men’s soccer team utilized a talented group to rise above the field.

Eight Flying Dutchmen earned spots on the 2025 All-MIAA Teams, including six first-team honorees and two second-team selections.

Defender Jack Lowman, forward Jackson Mindling, goalkeeper Daniel Morgan, defender Benjamin Smitley, forward Seth Walters and midfielder Josh Weigel received All-MIAA First Team honors.

Midfielder Matthew Davidson and defender Evan Morrison were named to the All-MIAA Second Team.

Morgan (Holland Christian) earned his first All-MIAA honor after leading the conference in goals-against average (0.43) and shutouts (4) in seven league matches. The sophomore averaged 2.86 saves per game against MIAA opponents.

The group helped Hope post a 6-0-1 league record and capture the program’s 16th MIAA championship — and first outright title since 2006.

Hope lost the MIAA Tournament title game to rival Calvin 2-0 on Saturday, Nov. 7.

Cross country

Led by Most Valuable Runner Logan Begeman, the MIAA champion Hope College men’s cross country team produced the largest number of All-MIAA selections in program history.

Ten Flying Dutchmen made the 2025 All-MIAA Teams, including a record six first-team selections: Begeman, seniors Carston Cole and Lucas Guidone, sophomores Cooper Jacobsen and Elias Kretchmar, and freshman Aiden Moore.

Four earned Second Team honors: senior Jonathan Harlow, juniors Nile Devers and Ian Petruska, and freshman Elijah Forbord.

All-MIAA honors are determined by runners’ individual finishes at the MIAA Championships. The top eight finishers earn First Team recognition; the next eight make the Second Team.

Begeman (Portage) became Hope’s 14th MIAA Most Valuable Men’s Runner by clocking a winning 8K personal-record time of 25 minutes, 4.5 seconds at Broadway Acres Golf Course in Charlotte. The mechanical engineering major earned All-MIAA honors for the second time after claiming Second Team recognition in 2024.

Cole (West Ottawa) repeated as an All-MIAA First Team honoree with a fifth-place time of 25:16.4. The exercise science major was also a Second Team selection in 2023.

Harlow (Holland) took ninth and earned his first All-MIAA honor with a PR of 25:29.9. The mechanical engineering major was the top Second Team finisher.

Senior Molly Durow leads a group of four Hope College women’s cross country runners who earned All-MIAA honors this fall.

Durow (Glenview, Illinois / Glenbrook South) is joined by sophomore Mary England (Kalamazoo, Michigan / Kalamazoo Central), freshman Dylan Ballin (Brookville, Ohio / Brookville), and freshman Taylor Mitchell (Otsego, Michigan / Otsego).

All-MIAA honors are determined by individual finishes at the MIAA Championships. The top eight runners are named to the first team, and the next eight to the second team.
