The high school winter season is officially over.
Here is a look at the top high school sports performers in the Holland area from March 9-14.
Talia Laskowski, Saugatuck basketball
The Trailblazers’ senior guard had a team-high 21 points in the Division 3 regional semifinals, a narrow loss to Kent City.
Penny Grob, Saugatuck basketball
The senior guard banked in a trio of 3-pointers and finished with 16 points in her final Saugatuck game in the regional semifinals.
Charlie DeHaan, Holland Christian diving
The Maroons diver scored a stunning 537 points to win the Division 3 state championship on the 1-meter springboard to lead the Maroons to second in the swimming and diving finals.
Brodie Brown, Hamilton diving
The Hawkeyes diver scored 386 points to finish third at the Division 3 state finals, helping Hamilton take 11th as a team.
Isaac Kamara-Hagemeyer, West Ottawa diving
The Panther won the Division 1 state title with a score of 464.60, the first boys championship for the Panthers in diving. West Ottawa finished 11th.
Jake Shoemaker, Holland Christian swimming
The Maroons sprinter finished Division 3 state runner-up in both the 100 freestyle and 200 freestyle to lead Holland Christian to second place as a team.
Andrew Skaggs, Zeeland swimming
The breaststroker was Division 1 state runner-up in the 100-yard breaststroke on Saturday, March 14, helping Zeeland finish seventh as a team.
Holland medley relay, swimming
Holland’s Jonathan Ross, Luke Arendshorst, Nazario Estrada and Aiden Lambers took 14th in the 200 medley relay (1:44.83).
