You’ve probably noticed relocated aisles, construction and temporarily closed sections during recent trips to Meijer on the northside of Holland. What’s going on? According to representatives, a significant remodel.
The project began at 3320 W. Shore Drive in April, and will continue throughout the summer. The work is expected to wrap up in the fall, according to a spokesperson.
“We sincerely value our customers and appreciate their patience while we work to update the store to provide an exceptional retail experience,” the company wrote in an email to The Sentinel.
The renovation includes updates to several sections of the store, the parking lot and a remodel of the nearby Meijer Express. The work began with redesigns of the bakery, deli, meat and seafood sections.
Other departmental improvements include “modernized” baby and apparel sections and an expansion of the pet section. In addition, the on-site pharmacy will be expanded to include an additional private consultation room and “convenient drive-through lanes.”
Outside, the store will receive new paint and signage, the parking lot will be repaved, and there will be a designated location for grocery pickup.
