LANSING — It takes every area of the soccer field to claim a state championship.
From the defense in the back, forwards up top, midfielders and even the coaches along the sideline, it all has to be humming in melody.
The Harbor Springs girls soccer team did just that this season, winning the Division 4 state championship, and the recent list of all-state honorees from the Michigan High School Soccer Coaches Association reflects it.
The Rams picked up four all-state player honors recently, along with one big state-wide coaching honor for the 2026 spring season.
Harbor junior Stefi Reskevics claimed first team all-state behind a season of 27 goals and seven assists, showing a knack for the clutch throughout the postseason.
Reskevics delivered two goals in the final five minutes in a district championship comeback, scored the lone goal in a regional semifinal, delivered the game-winner with two seconds left in the state semifinal and was first to get Harbor on the board in the state championship.
Harbor then had three athletes earn all-state within the honorable mention group in senior twin sisters Sophie and Lilly Barnadyn, along with freshman Maeve Riley.
Both Sophie and Lilly Barnadyn put together a fantastic ending to a four-year career together, with Lilly a key piece to a reshaped backline deep in the postseason that led to four postseason shutouts.
Lilly, who earned honors as a midfielder, also finished the season with 14 goals and seven assists overall.
For Sophie, claiming defender honors, the year of playing all across the pitch came with 10 goals and six assists.
She became a master of corner kicks for the Rams, which included scoring off one and adding two other assists off corners in the postseason.
Riley broke out right from the start of the 2026 season, becoming another scoring threat up top in just her freshman season.
She scored 17 goals and added 19 assists, teaming with Reskevics for a dangerous duo.
Along with the young Riley, Harbor Springs head coach Aaron Riley became the small school MIHSSCA State Coach of the Year.
Riley’s direction of course led to a Division 4 state title, 20-1-2 season overall and 13-0-1 record and Northern Shores Conference title.
Riley was in his 12th season of leading the Rams along the sidelines.
Along with Harbor Springs’ Division 4 honors, Gaylord midfielder Josie Bensinger earned all-state third team honors in Division 2.
Bensinger was recognized after the Blue Devils earned a district championship and finished 17-3-1. The Blue Devils also shared the Big North Conference title this season.
