Hamtramck Blowout returns this weekend with lower ticket price

Often one of the first signs of spring in Detroit, the Hamtramck Blowout returns this weekend with 130 bands and artists performing in 18 venues over three days.

Now a fundraiser for the annual Hamtramck Labor Day Festival at the end of summer, the Blowout has roots that date back to the late 1990s. It’s traditionally been a fun way to see dozens of up-and-coming area bands for the price of one wristband. After going up to $35 in 2025, the price of an all-access ticket are once again $20 this year.

“Apparently, while everything else is going up, we figured we’d try something different — making fun more affordable,” reads a statement from organizers, which includes Hamtramck area bar owners, musicians and community members.

Among the highlights of the Hamtramck Blowout 2026 are sets by Duane, Stef Chura, Passalacqua and others at the P.L.A.V. Post 10 Friday night, and the always-entertaining Cult of Spaceskull at Small’s just after midnight. Singer-songwriter Emily Rose headlines an early showcase at Book Suey at 8 p.m. Saturday while Deastro headlines the Strays (the bar formerly known as New Dodge Lounge) at 12:30 a.m. Saturday.

Some showcases are free and open to all ages, like the ones at bookshop and community space Bank Suey and coffeehouse Cafe 1923 on Friday and Saturday.

Access to all other venues, many which are limited to those 21 and older, will require a wristband. Find the link to purchase, plus more details on the bands and venues at hamtramckblowout.com.
