In case Michigan “Gilmore Girls” fans didn’t get enough of Stars Hollow in Brighton last month, Lapeer is hosting a one-night-only downtown transformation into the popular TV show’s home.
Lapeer’s Stars Hollow Harvest event will take place downtown Lapeer from 5-9 p.m. Oct. 17. The event will celebrate the 25th anniversary of “Gilmore Girls” and honor small businesses as the heartbeat of small towns, according to the Lapeer Area Chamber of Commerce.
“Gilmore Girls” is an American television show with seven seasons airing from 2000 to 2007. The first episode of the show aired Oct. 5, 2000.
Lapeer business Axecadia, 55 West Nepessing St., is hosting the event.
Stars Hollow Harvest goers can start their night with a mock town hall meeting and obtaining a Stars Hollow passport and list of possible things to do in the upper level of Axecadia, according to event organizers on Facebook.
After grabbing a passport, “Gilmore Girls” fans and community members can check out businesses like Luke’s at The Doghouse Cafe, 454 West Nepessing St., and Weston’s Bakery at Kookys N Cream, 374 West Nepessing St.
Hummingbird House Designs, 128 West Nepessing St., plans to be the Dragonfly Inn for the night with shirts, mugs, candles and other “Gilmore Girls” inspired designs.
Fan’s can grab a bit to eat at Woodchips BBQ, 315 West Nepessing St., like Lorelai and Rory would eat a Friday night dinner at Richard and Emily Gilmore’s, according to the Chamber of Commerce.
The event is fan-led and not affiliated with Warner Brothers or affiliates, according to organizers.
