A legacy defensive lineman currently committed to an ACC school reportedly took an official visit to Michigan State this past weekend.
Corey Robinson of 247Sports reported on Monday that Michigan State hosted three-star defensive lineman Amari Vickerson of Cypress, Texas. Amari Vickerson is the son of former Spartan Kevin Vickerson, who played at Michigan State form 2001 to 2004.
Vickerson is currently committed to SMU of the ACC. But he has also picked up some recent recruiting buzz from Texas and Texas A&M, according to 247Sports.
Vickerson ranks as the No. 73 defensive lineman and No. 583 overall prospect in 247Sports’ composite rankings for the 2027 class. He also has a recruiting rating of 88.
Michigan State is looking to pull off a notable flip of Vickerson from the Mustangs. It’ll be interesting to see if his family ties will help the Spartans in this heated recruiting battle or if he’ll end up at a school closer to home.
