The Soo Film Festival is calling for entries in a wide range of genres.
The 2026 festival is set to take place Sept. 16-20 with screenings at both the Soo Theatre and Bayliss Public Library.
“There is tremendous filmmaking talent in the Great Lakes and we are proud to be a showcase for it,” said festival president Jason Markstrom in an announcement. “We anticipate another fantastic lineup for 2026.”
According to the festival announcement, entries in both documentary and fiction categories will be accepted online exclusively through FilmFreeway.com/SooFilmFestival. The festival committee has set a no-fee early bird deadline of March 29. The regular deadline is May 10 and requires a $20 entry fee. Late entries must be submitted by June 1 with an entry fee of $25. The selected films will be announced the week of Aug. 3.
While the Soo Film Festival aims to showcase work from around the Great Lakes region, entry is open to filmmakers worldwide.
