Dragon Express is officially open in Hamburg Township. What to know

HAMBURG TWP. — Dragon Express has officially opened in the former Dragon Court Restaurant at 7570 M-36.

The restaurant is operated by Bing Li, the owner of New China King in Howell. The eatery is primarily focused on carry-out, but there are several booths available.

Since launching in early April, the community has warmly welcomed the business, according to Li — who added he’s excited to maintain a Chinese cuisine option in Hamburg Township.

Customers will find plenty of traditional fare, including egg rolls, wonton soup, chicken dishes, chop suey, chow mein, lo mein, fried rice and more. Li requests patience as staffers are trained, and said customers can expect updated signage soon.

Dragon Court Restaurant closed in March 2025, citing staffing shortages and “unmanageable lease terms.” For updates on the new business, visit “Dragon Express” on Facebook.
