Detroit police find three deceased people in a home in the city

The bodies of three people were found in a Detroit home between Aug. 20 and 21, the Detroit Police Department said.

The department, which is investigating the incident, said officers were called to the 15500 block of Stoepel at approximately 9:30 p.m. Aug. 20 and discovered that an unknown male victim and an unknown female victim were deceased in the home.

Police said that over the course of its investigation, it became aware of another person associated with the residence who had not been seen in some time. 

Investigators returned to the home Aug. 21 and found the remains of an another unknown victim in the basement, police said.

Police said there is no threat to the public and they are working with the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office to identify the bodies.
