Detroit father sentenced in death of 8-year-old son

A Detroit father was sentenced to 18-40 years in prison in the death of his 8-year-old son, Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced on Thursday, Aug. 7.

Jamarr Hill pleaded guilty to second-degree murder on July 21. Authorities say Hill and the child’s mother, Kentoria Latricia Moss, fatally assaulted their son on Nov. 8, 2024, shortly after midnight. The cause of death was determined to be multiple blunt force trauma to the head.

Moss was also charged in her child’s death, and her case is ongoing. Her preliminary examination is set for Aug. 29.

“The alleged facts in this case are chilling. The defendants in this case worked in tandem to beat and eventually kill this poor child – two adults against an eight-year-old,” Worthy said in a statement.

“Little Adren had zero chance of surviving.”
