Indiana football is set for a big jump in the US LBM Coaches Poll after upsetting Oregon 30-20 on Saturday, Oct. 11.
The Hoosiers held the Ducks’ strong offense in check on the road, and quarterback Fernando Mendoza threw a key touchdown in the fourth quarter to give Indiana the 30-20 win, potentially setting them up for their highest ranking in program history.
Meanwhile, the season appears to be official off the rails for Penn State, who fell to Northwestern 22-21. Quarterback Drew Allar also suffered a season-ending injury in the loss.
Elsewhere, both No. 15 Michigan and unranked Michigan State faced double-digit losses to Los Angeles-based teams. The Wolverines traveled to take on unranked USC and exited with a 31-13 defeat. Elsewhere, Nico Iamaleava and UCLA continued their resurgence against the Spartans in a dominant 38-13 victory.
