Bronson High School graduates 73 in 139th commencement

BRONSON, MI — Bronson High School celebrated its 139th commencement Thursday night, May 21, proudly presenting diplomas to 73 members of the Class of 2026 during a 7 p.m. ceremony in the high school gym.

Families and friends filled the bleachers as seniors marched in to the band’s “Pomp and Circumstance.”

Pastor Jim Erwin of Bethel Gilead Community Church delivered an inspiring message to the seniors.Salutatorian Owen Rinehart delivered the first student address, followed by valedictorian and class president Hailey Francom.

Principal Mike Miller recognized academic honors before Superintendent Kate Wall formally presented the Class of 2026 to the Board of Education for graduation and the presentation of their diplomas.

Francom then returned to deliver the president’s address and later joined the Class of 2027 president for the traditional cane ceremony, symbolizing the positive transition of leadership to next year’s seniors.

The Class of 2026 officers were Hailey Francom (president), Layne Knisely (vice president), Zayda Cardenas (treasurer), and Anna-Luisa Pinon (secretary), with Lillian Kilburn as student council president.

Seven seniors earned the distinction of Senior Scholars: Maxwell Byler, Gabriel Erwin, Abbigal Ferry, Hailey Francom, Gracie McCormick, Owen Rinehart, and Samuel Tappenden.

The Class of 2026 ended the evening by tossing their caps, followed by a reception line in the cafeteria for personal congratulations.
