Authorities have recovered the body of a man who went missing Saturday while swimming in Lake St. Clair.
The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team found the body of James “Jak” Kramer, 23, of Northville around 11 a.m. Monday, officials said.
Kramer had been missing since Saturday evening, when he entered the water about 3 miles south of the mouth of the South Channel, authorities said. Witnesses said they saw him go underwater and he did not resurface.
Agencies including the U.S. Coast Guard, St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office Marine Division and Macomb County Sheriff’s Office’s Dive Team assisted in the search.
Foul play is not suspected, officials said. Authorities have not released additional details.
“The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office extends its deepest condolences to Kramer’s family and friends during this difficult time,” the agency said in a press release.
