It will be a dramatic season of female-led stories making their Detroit debut as part of the 2026-27 ATG Broadway In Detroit series.
Announced on Wednesday, the upcoming season kicks off in September with “The Notebook,” a romantic musical based on the best-selling novel and 2004 romance film with Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams as Noah and Allie. It wraps in March 2027 with the Tony Award-winning comedy “Death Becomes Her,” inspired by the 1992 film starring Goldie Hawn and Meryl Streep.
Two of the series extra productions are Cole Escola’s smash dark comedy “Oh, Mary!” and another show from a best-selling novel, “Water for Elephants.”
“We’re thrilled to announce the new ATG Broadway in Detroit series,” said ATG Detroit general manager James Kuhl in a press release. “This season delivers six must-see shows, with two additional add-on productions, all making their Detroit premiere for one incredible series.”
