ADRIAN — A local man arrested in connection with a fatal overdose in Blissfield in November 2024 is tentatively scheduled for a criminal pretrial conference in Lenawee County Circuit Court on Wednesday, July 9.
Eric Lee Cooper, 43, was arrested after information obtained during the death investigation of Paul Jones, 34, of Blissfield led investigators to believe Cooper delivered him heroin laced with fentanyl.

A search warrant of Cooper’s home in the Friendly Village Mobile Home Park was obtained and allegedly led to the discovery of 800 grams of heroin, 29 grams of fentanyl, 39 grams of cocaine, numerous firearms and a large amount of cash. The drugs seized had an estimated street value of $100,000.
Cooper stands charged with delivery of a controlled substance causing death, possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, possession of firearms by a prohibited person, possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, possession of body armor by a violent felon, maintaining a drug house and felony firearm.
He faces up to life in prison if convicted as charged.
Cooper’s arrest was the culmination of a joint investigation between the Blissfield Police Department and the Michigan State Police Region of Irish Hills Narcotics Office.
