A new indoor golf simulation facility is coming to Holland Township, marking the third golf simulator business to open in the area in the last year.
Representatives for The Back Nine Golf went before the township’s planning commission June 2, seeking special land use approval to open inside Holland Town Center at 12330 James St.
The proposed business received unanimous support from commissioners. It would offer five golf simulator bays, an open lounge area and seating areas, and would operate as a membership-based facility with access 24/7 — in addition to tee times for non-members, limited to daytime and evening hours.
Company officials said no alcohol will be served on site, though guests will be allowed bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages.
The Back Nine has locations in 39 states, including 14 in Michigan. The closest location to Holland is in Grand Haven.
The business will be the third golf simulator venue to open in the Holland area in recent months, joining Tulip City Golf and Holland Country Club, which operate within a mile of each other on River Avenue.
