JULIUS WILSON

6-2, Sr. G, Macomb L’Anse Creuse North

Signed with Wayne State, Wilson was the foundation all season for a L’Anse Creuse North team that reached a Division 1 regional final.

Wilson averaged 18.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, three steals and two blocks per game, regularly willing his team to victory.

“What makes his season even more impressive was the adversity our team faced,” L’Anse Creuse North coach Kurt Wilson said. “We lost our starting center early in January (to injury), our shooting guard tore his ACL during tryouts. Julius also experienced the personal loss of his stepfather. We relied on two sophomores and a football player in our rotation. Despite this, Julius didn’t just perform. He elevated.”

ISAIAH WILLIAMS

6-7, Sr. F, Harper Woods Chandler Park

Williams certainly made his only season of high school basketball in Michigan a memorable one, dominating throughout the season. He finished averaging 17 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks a game for a Chandler Park team that was among the best in Division 2 all season.

KEANDRE BURTIN

6-6, Sr. F/C, Warren Fitzgerald

A four-year starter and interior anchor for a team that gave up just 38.9 points per game, Burtin averaged 13 points, 13 rebounds and four blocked shots a game to help Fitzgerald win the Macomb Area Conference White title and reach a Division 1 regional final. Burtin has committed to play in college for Ferris State.

TERRELL OWENS

5-10, Jr. G, Roseville

A big reason why Roseville advanced to the Division 1 state quarterfinals was the play of Owens, who averaged 17.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 3.9 steals per game. He finished the season with 444 points and 102 steals while shooting 57% from the field overall and 35% from 3-point range.

CARTER GEORGE

6-6, Soph. F, Roseville

One of the state’s top players in the 2028 class, the ultra-versatile and lithe George could rack up big stats in multiple categories on a nightly basis. He finished averaging 12.2 points, 9.3 rebounds, 4.6 blocks and 3.8 assists per game, providing elite rim protection and the ability to initiate the offense at times when he was a primary ballhandler.

Coach of the year

RASHARD PORTER

Roseville

After spending time as an assistant for good teams at Southfield Christian and Birmingham Brother Rice in recent years, Porter showed he could excel as the man in charge of a program as well, guiding Roseville to its first regional title since 1957.
