115 'No Kings' protests planned in Michigan for March 28. See where

More than 100 “No Kings,” protests are scheduled in Michigan next week, part of the anti-Trump organization’s nationwide protest against the president and his administration on March 28.

“With less than two weeks to go until the next national No Kings Day of Nonviolent Action, organizers across the nation are now planning over 3,000 local events — more than any previous No Kings national mobilization. More events are being added daily,” said the organization in a March 18 release.

In Michigan, 115 protests have been scheduled at varying times on Saturday, March 28, according to the “No Kings” online event map.

“Last June, more than 5 million people took to the streets across more than 2,100 events during the coalition’s first day of action. Then, more than 7 million people protested across more than 2,700 events last October (2025),” No Kings said in the release. “The March 28 mobilization is the next step in this growing movement, with organizers anticipating it will be one of the largest single-day nonviolent nationwide protests in U.S. history.”

President Donald Trump’s policies on health care, education, environmental protection, gun violence, deportation in the U.S. and Iran war are points of protest, according to the “No Kings,” website.

Michigan events are planned at “landmark locations” to make it easy for crowds to locate and gather, organizers say, including the Michigan State Capitol.

Protests are slated for West Bloomfield, Waterford, Walled Lake and Pontiac in southeastern Michigan, and will be led by metro Detroit high school and college students through the Teen Action Network.

Students have requested protestors wear red, white and blue and “goofy clothing” to their events to “help control the narrative for any press,” according to the event details posted online for each location.

Here’s what to know about the “No Kings,” organization and where protests are planned in Michigan, as of March 19.

What is the ‘No Kings’ organization?

“No Kings” is a non-violent political organization that mobilizes protests against President Donald Trump and his administration across the U.S. The group provides online resources, has partnerships with businesses and advocacy groups, and recently launched a training program called “Eyes on Ice.”

In 2025, there were national “No Kings” protests on June 14, Flag Day, and on Oct. 18. The group also supported the “We Ain’t Buying It” campaign from Nov. 27 to Dec. 1.

“Our peaceful movement is only getting bigger. ‘No Kings’ is more than just a slogan; it is the foundation our nation was built upon,” the organization said. “Born in the streets, shouted by millions, carried on posters and chants, it echoes from city blocks to rural town squares, uniting people across this country to fight dictatorship together.”
