SAO PAULO (Reuters) -Brazil’s Sao Paulo state confirmed on Friday a case of the new mpox strain, the first case of clade Ib mpox in the region, it said in a statement.
The strain was detected in a 29-year old woman who lives in the Sao Paulo metropolitan region who had contact with a relative coming from the Democratic Republic of Congo, according to the statement.
