We took a peek at some of the entries so far, and here’s what we found:
First up, take a drive down to 179 S. Beach Street in Daytona Beach to the Riverfront Esplanade and prepare to be awed. Total number of lights on display? Somewhere around 320,000. Visitors are invited to walk the winding paths of the riverside park and be surrounded by glowing trees and character displays.
The display goes from Thanksgiving through January 5. Lights go on at 6 p.m. and go dark at 9 p.m.
Head to New Smyrna Beach for another big showing. This is a walk-through display that spans more than an acre. There is room for parking, and the walk is accessible via wheelchair. The display includes music, animation and cutout characters.
Total number of lights? Between 125,000 and 150,000. The display is open from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. each night unless it rains. It opens Thanksgiving night and runs until January 3. It is located at 2930 Turnbull Bay Road.
If you are looking to add some traditional holiday music to your experience, you may want to go to 633 Doris Place in South Daytona. Lights total 15,000. The LED display is set to music, featuring a variety of Christmas classics. Visitors should tune their radio to 87.9.
There are more. So get those submissions in and get ready to take a ride through a holiday wonderland or two.
