Just three races remain in the 2026 NTT IndyCar Series season with two of them scheduled for the Aug. 28-30 weekend at the Milwaukee Mile.
The Snap-on 250 weekend marks the third year and the fourth and fifth races since IndyCar returned to the historic Mile, on the grounds of State Fair Park in West Allis, after an eight-year absence.
Here’s what to know about the event, from basics on the series and track to schedule, tickets and broadcasts and other frequently asked questions.
What is the NTT IndyCar Series?
Open-wheel, open cockpit cars that race in the Indianapolis 500 have been run at other tracks around the country and internationally on large ovals such as the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, street courses in cities such as Detroit, road courses such as Elkhart Lake’s Road America and short ovals such as the Milwaukee Mile. The most recent race, the Freedom 250 Grand Prix, took place Aug. 23 on the streets of Washington.
The sport has had numerous governing bodies over the years. IndyCar is the latest. The NTT IndyCar series raced at the Mile 11 times from 2004-2015 and three times over the past two years.
In short, what is the history of the Milwaukee Mile?
Originally a private horse track, the oval on the grounds of State Fair Park held its first motor race in 1903, eight years before the first Indianapolis 500.
Since then it has hosted hundreds of national level races for open-wheel and stock cars, although its use has been sporadic over recent decades due to issues with promoters and sanctioning bodies.
Since the return of the NTT IndyCar Series, Pato O’Ward and Scott McLaughlin split the 2024 doubleheader and Christian Rasmussen took the single race in 2025.
How much do IndyCar tickets at the Milwaukee Mile cost?
Weekend passes covering practice Friday and the races Saturday and Sunday are priced from $88 (general admission) to $240 (high row, center grandstand) in advance, including fees and taxes.
Friday (practice day) admission is $10.
Advance tickets for Saturday and Sunday race days start at $55 for general admission and range from $90 to $150 for reserved seats.
Tickets also are available at the gate.
Can fans watch IndyCar from the Milwaukee Mile infield?
No infield-specific general admission is being sold, but fans with grandstand reserved or GA tickets also are permitted to watch from the infield.
Do children get into the Milwaukee Mile for free?
A ticket for fans younger than 12 is free at the gate with the purchase of an adult grandstand general admission ticket. In reserved sections, children 3 and older must have a ticket; those younger may sit on a ticketholder’s lap.
Can fans get into the IndyCar paddock area at the Milwaukee Mile?
Garage passes are available for an additional $25 Friday, $40 Saturday or Sunday, or $75 for the weekend.
Is camping available for Snap-on weekend at the Mile?
Sales of infield camping packages have ended.
How much does parking cost on IndyCar weekend at the Milwaukee Mile?
Parking on the grounds is $15 Friday and $25 Saturday and Sunday. Infield parking is $20 Friday and $40 Saturday and Sunday. Parking permits are available online through milwaukeemile.com before the day of use. Day-of parking is subject to availability.

Friday – Gates open at noon; IndyCar practice at 5 p.m. (FS1). USF Pro 2000 practice at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

IndyCar races air on Fox (Channel 6 in Milwaukee), with Saturday coverage beginning at 1:30 p.m. local time and Sunday coverage at noon.
Are IndyCar practice and qualifying from the Milwaukee Mile on TV?
Practice at 5 p.m. Friday and qualifying at 10 a.m. Saturday are on FS1.
Can fans bring their own food and beverages to the Milwaukee Mile?
