Outfielder JJ Bleday became the eighth player in Cincinnati Reds history to hit for the cycle with his sixth-inning home run off of Arizona Diamondbacks (and former Reds) pitcher Zack Littell.
Bleday achieved the feat in his first four plate appearances of the game, doubling in the first inning, tripling in the third inning and singling in the fourth inning.
Bleday is the first Reds player to hit for the cycle since Elly De La Cruz on June 23, 2023.
Bleday’s cycle was the fourth in MLB this year.
Bleday joined the Chicago Cubs’ Pete Crow-Armstrong, the Philadelphia Phillies’ Bryce Harper and the Chicago White Sox’s Tristan Peters.
Crow-Armstrong had a reverse natural cycle, meaning the order was home run, triple, double and single.
In his final two plate appearances of the night, Bleday flied out in the seventh inning and struck out in the ninth.
