The Brownstown Police Department is investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred on Tuesday morning, Aug. 18.
According to the Brownstown Police Department, police officers, fire, and EMS responded to the area of Telegraph Road north of Sibley Road for a report of a serious traffic crash about 9:30 a.m. Officers found a minivan had rear-ended a large box truck that had been stopped in the roadway and was preparing to make a left turn into a private business.
The minivan’s driver, a 53-year-old woman from Newport, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remain under investigation.
The investigation is being conducted in tandem with the Downriver Crash Team.
