It was all fun and games Thursday morning at Amarillo ISD’s second-annual FamFest – a family-reunion-style, back-to-school bash celebrating AISD teachers and staff as they head back to school.
Dick Bivins Stadium was packed like a rivalry game between Tascosa High School and Amarillo High School or any other big football events soon to come.
Back-to-school fever was in the air as participants wore the T-shirts from their schools and competed in friendly competition. Team spirit was evident in the big event, Tug-of-War which pitted the teachers and school supports against each for bragging rights as they dug in and literally pulled for their team.
The mission is to make memories one game at a time with a dunking booth, cornhole tournament, silent disco, and the main event: a campus team Tug-of-War battle for bragging rights. The talented teacher band, “Staff Infection,” was on stage to entertain the crowd.
