Wrapping up a busy election week

The primary election dominated the news this week, as it should have, with all the races big and small set for November. We also know from analytics, software that tells us what people are reading, that folks move on fast from election coverage.

One of the things we try to do during election weeks is to plan ahead to provide other content for those not glued to the latest politics news. It’s an attempt to serve a broader audience and also to have content prepped to make it a bit easier to get the newspaper out on a week that is among the busiest of the year for us.

When his doctors told him it was time to do the things he really wanted to do before it was too late, his wish was to visit East Lansing, and spend some time with Tom Izzo and the Michigan State basketball team.

Graham did a wonderful job telling a very difficult story, and his column was the most popular article we wrote this week.

It’s a reminder that as seriously as we take politics in this region and across the state and country, it’s still just politics. There are other important stories to be told.

I hope to take a few minutes to read it.

Thanks again for subscribing.
