BRASILIA, July 23 (Reuters) – About 2,000 products exported by Brazil to the United States will be exempt from the new tariffs announced by the Donald Trump administration in recent days, including coffee and orange juice, Brazil’s Trade and Industry Minister Marcio Elias Rosa said on Thursday.
• Brazil was among the countries targeted on Thursday with a 12.5% tariff on its exports to the U.S., in a move related to forced labor.
• Last week, the Trump administration had already announced a 25% tariff on several Brazilian products, citing unfair trade practices by the South American country.
• Sectors such as footwear, and machinery and equipment will be subject to both tariffs, while others including pulp will be levied only at 12.5%, Rosa told journalists in Brasilia.
