“Holland In Photos,” a series shot by Sentinel photographer Adam Vander Kooy, highlights the extra-ordinary happenings of your neighbors.
DOUGLAS — The Rosemont Inn was built nearly 125 years ago, and remains an important part of lakeshore history in Douglas. For this week’s Holland in Photos, I decided to visit June 25.
Kerry and Tammy Cunnion operate the fourteen-room lodge, where the character of the building is part of the stay. Inside, historic photographs of Douglas and Saugatuck hang alongside landscape paintings by local artist James Brandess.
There are various places to slow down, including the backyard and patio, and the pool, hot tub and sauna.
The day started in the kitchen, as Kerry prepared homemade breakfast. French toast, sausage, eggs, fresh fruit and cranberry orange scones were among the items served.
